“I’ll never outgrow the excitement of looking out my window and seeing falling snow!”

Inspired by looking out your window and seeing big fat flurries fall from the sky, this pattern is designed to make use of fingering weight yarn or all those minis and leftovers you have in your stash, and create a cozy and squishy sock that’s great for curling up with on those cold winter nights. You can easily substitute holding fingering yarn double for DK weight yarn.

Materials:
- Size US 3 needles (3.25 mm) with 32” cable to work in magic loop. Or size needed to obtain gauge.
-1 st marker to mark pattern; 1 more to mark BOR if you are using 9” circs
-Progress keeper or bulb markers for tracking progress
-Darning needle
-Scissors

Designer Note: I enjoy working my socks up in magic loop and have written the pattern that way. But this would be an easy pattern to use 9” needles.

Yarn Recommendation:
Sample shown knit using fingering weight minis held double in the Large size.
200g Any Fingering weight yarn OR
100g MC and 40g CC DK weight
This pattern would look great in any tonal, solid, variegated or speckled yarns. I recommend pairing a tonal or solid with a contrasting speckled or variegated yarn for best effect.
The sample yarn is a superwash Merino with a nylon blend for added stability.

Gauge:
8 sts and 12 RNDS 1"/2.54cm in stockinette stitch, in the round

Sizing:
This pattern offers two adult size options, corresponding with the usual stitch count for socks knit with single strand fingering weight yarn of 64 and 72 stitches.
- Medium (48 sts) with finished foot circumference of 7”
- Large (56 sts) with finished foot circumference of 9”
-Sample shown with a leg length of 5” and foot length of 7”
Length is adjustable to fit your preference

Skill Level:
Intermediate Knitter - This pattern uses the short row heel gusset technique and has a slipped stitch design.
